Both My Cats Have Fleas, and We Bought Treatment…?

by admin

A few months ago, we realized that both of our cats have fleas. We have been using the flea comb on one of them, on and off. We DID buy treatment, either frontline, or advantage, I forget, but my dad didn't want to use them at the time because one has seizures/epilepsy and we wanted to get that under control.

Now, we want to treat them, but my dad brought up the problem of the cats grooming the meds off of each other's backs.
Has this ever been a problem for anyone else?
I just checked, we got Frontline Plus For Cats.
I'm not sure where we got it. We're going to call the vet and ask then.

And does anyone know how long it'll take to soak into their skin or whatever, so the other can't lick it off?

Hello,

I suggest applying frontline to each cat then separating the cats from each other for 24 hours in a small room (bathroom or closet)

While the cats are separated you can apply flea treatment to areas in your home.

You can pick up the flea treatment from Wal-Mart for a reasonable price.

Sometimes fleas carry worms so you might want to monitor the cats for worm symptoms in the coming weeks.

Best of luck
