Is Epilepsy a disease or a problem? According to me it is not a disease as all the parts are doing their job even during the attack and so it is a problem. The docs know the reason why it happens. But there is wrong notion among the people that it is a disease. Can someone clarify whether it is a disease or a problem? By the by I am not a doctor but I am an epileptic. I know what it is and what happens to me during the attack of course from my wife.

It's a disorder. A disease would be something you can transmit, and calling it a disease would infer that you "caught it" somewhere- which is not the case, as epilepsy is genetic. Granted, there are diseases that can cause seizures... but the differences are obvious.
