How Do You Treat a Cat With Allergies?

by admin

I have a kitten about 4 months old. She was diagnosed with an upper-respiratory infection and I gave her the required medicines to cure it. She still has a stuffy nose and sneezes. I believe she has allergies. I've read you can give benadryl to cats, is that safe? What are some other methods of treatment?

You'll need to have your kitten diagnosed by a vet. My cat has allergies and I run an air purifier for him. The vet gave me Temeril for his symptoms. I like it better than Benadryl because there's no foaming at the mouth. You should check with your vet before giving any medication. You could easily OD your kitten or give something toxic. She may need another round of antibiotics. Sometimes URI's are stubborn. Let the vet check her again and ask about allergies and what medications in what dosages he recommends.
