I think I'm bipolar, am I bipolar. I always think that I’m suffering from bipolar because I always feel disturb. I am moody, which annoys my parents, siblings and friends. Some of them don’t associate with my anymore.

There’s no one I can talk to about my situation. So, I read books, magazines in online and print until I find answers. I learned that people who have bipolar disorders are often disturbed by their ever changing mood.

Doctors can’t determine the cause of bipolar disorder. They believe that environmental, genetic, and chemical factors are reasons why a person has bipolar disorder. As I learn facts, my desire to understand bipolar disorder increased.

There might be chemical imbalances in my brain that’s why I think im bipolar, am I bipolar. Studies tell me that particular neurotransmitters in my brain aren’t properly balanced so I can’t regulate moods properly.

Bipolar Disorder Symptoms

It is said that 1 in 7 people has bipolar disorder. The symptoms show among women and men in their twenties, but sometimes it show in adolescents and children. These people suffering from bipolar disorders are more moody than normal people.

I have learned that adults who suffer from depressive or manic episodes have mood swings that can last for several weeks or months. I am an adult and I always asked myself: I think im bipolar, am I bipolar.

Teenagers who suffer from bipolar disorder are undergoing cycles of depression and mania in different times in one day. Their episodes are sometimes unpredictable and the attacks come without warning. There are times where there are patterns of mania attacks that synchronize with a particular season. I know that these troubled teenagers have more troubles in asking questions like I think im bipolar, am I bipolar, which is saddening.

Fast cycles of mood swings are common in adolescents, children, and women. They have at least 4 cycles per year. While adult men are experiencing slower mood change. What disturbed me besides of my inquiry I think im bipolar, am I bipolar is I thought that my mood swings are much frequent than normal.

Defining Mania and Depression

Mania is distinguished by exaggerated elevated mood. People who are having mania have endless energy, and a lesser desire to sleep. They can get irritated and anxious easily, and they have unusual or strange thought patterns.

People who are depressed feels so much melancholy that they cannot function well in school, office, and in society. Those people also lost interests in things and activities they previously enjoy. They can’t concentrate, and they feel worthless, fatigued, and what’s worse, they can feel suicidal.

During the times when I think im bipolar, am I bipolar, I always switch from feeling melancholy and excited. And I still feel scared whenever I remember that there are times where I feel suicidal.

I’m just glad that people who love me helped me recover. And I am thankful that I feel better now.

Bipolar disorder is hard to diagnose for there are no brain scan or blood test to detect it.  And it can also be misdiagnosed or undiagnosed. Physical examination is the primary step to diagnose bipolar disorder.

My Bipolar Disorder Treatment

My family is afraid that I always told them that I think im bipolar, am I bipolar. So they sent me to a professional psychologist that developed an effective treatment plan. Through the mood stabilizer, talk therapy, and group therapy sessions, I’ve been cured in no time.
