I Think That My Ten Year Old Toy Poodle May Be Having Bladder Issues.?

by admin

My ten year old toy poodle whom I love dearly has been having some problems. She is extremely well house trained, has been for years. But for the past week or so, she will pee and not even know it! She will be laying on the bed or couch with me and when we get up, there will be a big wet spot under her. I'm thinking of calling her vet just to see what he says about it. It's like she has no idea that she has peed everywhere...which is really unlike her. Anyone else have an older dog to have this problem? Could she be experiencing doggie incontinence? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Yes, I had a Min Pin that was incontinent. She was about 10 – 11 years old when she first started showing signs. Spayed females can become incontinent. She was put on medication that helps the sphincter muscle contract. It's a good idea that you call the vet. She may have a UTI, which can be treated with antibiotics.
