I've been using a little bit of sacrylic acid on my chin to treat horrible acne i've acquired and I thought i read somewhere it was safe to use, but I'm reading a bunch of stuff online today that it is definetly not safe. Does anyone know for sure? Do you think my baby is safe? I've been using it maybe every other day for the past few weeks...

I asked my doctor about it and it is perfectly safe as long as you are using the simple over-the-counter variety. Salicylic acid is a derivative of aspirin, and that's where the concern comes from, but the levels are extremely low in acne medicine. Plus, you are only using it on a small part of your body once or twice a day--the amount you actually absorb is teeny tiny and is metabolized quickly.
