just wanted to know if epidurals are safe meaning are there any long term side-effects to it? im not sure if i take it or not since im hearing two sides to it some say it to take it while others oppose it so are there any mommies out there who can help me pls..need to make a decision soon! due in 4 weeks! IA

I have had 5 children and had an epidural for all of them. There are no long term effects to it. Some women that say that their backs hurt due to the injection are actually mistaken. It isn't due to the epidural which happens a little higher on your back than where most women claim to have their pain. Honestly, the Epidurals are really nice when you are in a lot of pain. My fourth(only girl) came so fast that even though I had the epidural put in, the medicine didn't even have enough time to get to me, So I more or less had her Natural. In my opinion, though natural when having a fast labor is doable, the epidural is so much nicer.
