Is It Normal to Have Diarrhea After an Appendectomy?

I went into the hospital thursday morning adn by lunchtime they told me they would remove my appendix before it burst in my stomach. I came home friday afternoon. I've actually been moving around a good bit, but just today I started getting diarrhea on occassion.

I didn't have diarrhea after my appendix was removed but we're all different. If you're on post op meds, that may be the cause. If it continues for another day, call the surgeon or take Imodium AD. It's in pill form & sold over the counter. It works great. Remember to drink a lot of "clear" liquids until the diarrhea is under control. (ex: water, tea, ginger ale or 7 Up, chicken broth, jello water. (that's unrefrigerated jello after it's been made)
