Jello Like Substance Found in Urine

A friend of mine hasn't been feeling well and has alot of swelling. Thinking it might be kidney problems, he saved his urine in a container through out the night. The next morning there was about one inch of a mucus/jello substance at the bottom of the container. Could he have diabetes, an infection or another disease? What could that susbance be?

It sounds like sediment and mucous. It could be indicating a urinary tract or kidney infection. Is the urine darker than usual or have a foul smell? (worse than just a regular urine smell) Swelling can be caused by retention of salt which can also indicate a kidney problem. See the doctor, most UTI's and kidney infections can be cleared effectively with antibiotics. Drink alot of water and cranberry juice.

Ladies are probably going to get drunk quicker and with less alcohol than men, because of the quantity of water in the body. If you are going to drink and you want to have the very best shot of avoiding discomfort, try beer or any clear drink , for example vodka.
