Can a Bad Cold Cause Lower Back Pain?

by admin

Question: I recently had a bad cold and for the past few days I have had sharp pain in my lower back, left side. It feels like a pulled muscle, but it came on without any physical trauma. Could this be some form of imflamation from the cold I had?

Answer: Bad colds is a complex respiratory problem. There are manifestation of inflammation at the affected area such as the respiratory tract and nasal sinuses that resulted to headache. If ever you had sign of cough- or excessive coughing, then you will have a pain at your chest wall (pleuritic chest pain) due to severe coughing.

What kind of medication did you take? some medications if taken in high dose will compromises the kidney that resulted to lower back pain (your kidney location). Drinking a lot of water will help alleviate the symptom.

Go and have it check with medical practitioner if it continue to bother you.
