Normal Side Effect From Epidural and C-Section, or Partially Paralized as a Side Effect for Life?

by admin

My c section was 10 days ago. Still my legs don't function properly. I can walk good, but by the end of the day I have to concentrate more to get my legs 'to work'. To lift my legs onto a footstool is difficult, and I sometimes need to lift my left leg with my hands. Walking is fine mostly, but side to side movements don't work that well (like pushing a dog toy out of the way with my foot). My left leg is the worst, and a nerve in the inner thigh seems not to work at all. Sometimes in bed I have to roll abit just to move my left leg at all. Is this normal after an epideral... or am I partially paralized for life... or is it that they are heavy from the fluid retention from the IV? the fluid in my legs is only down 1/2 way and I still don't have ankles.

More than likely it is from the extra fluids in your legs from the IV. I had 2 c-sections. You have to make sure to keep moving your legs and not keep the in the same place for a long period of time. I know it hurts to be moving but it has to be done. At the hospital the nurses should have been making you get up and walk around to get your legs moving and help get rid of that fluid in your feet. Doesn't it feel weird when u walk though. It felt like I was walking on water every step I took. If u are still experiencing problems you need to let your doctor know. I wish u the best and take it easy!
