A person would need to see a medical doctor.
Most likely this person would need to have some tests run, too.
First, if the person has suffered from epilepsy their whole life
then they probably have already been diagnosed by a physician,
and have some medical documentation to affirm this.
So there should be no big deal about proving whether the condition exists or not.
But, the deal with seizure medicine is that there is no "one size fits all."
My brother suffers from petit mal epileptic seizures
and he has periodic blood tests to be sure that he is maintaining an adequate level of meds.
So in most cases, routine testing is a part of the treatment, sorry.
Besides, I think a physician would be remiss if they just gave out meds without thorough examination and testing.
I mean, what if I went to my doctor and could accurately describe symptoms of a condition —
Do you think my doctor should just prescribe pills just on the basis of my assertion? I don't think so.
She would do an examination, order testing,
and wait until she had the results
before she wrote a prescription for me.
I guess if the person is trying to get seizure meds just by explaining what the symptoms, etc., would cause me some concern if I were a physician.
Plus, if a doctor wrote prescriptions just by word-of-mouth, I guess I wouldn't have much faith in that medical person.
The tests are not that expensive, and sometimes there are agencies to help with the fees.
The physician will know about these.
