What Can I Do to Prevent Diabetes?

okay so i'm 17 and i just found out i may be pre-diabetic. i'm freakign out a little. my doctor said if i am i may have to take a weird medication for like the rest of my life i forgot what she said it was called. i really dont' want to get diabetes. I knwo one day iwould ahve it since it is really common in the women in my family when they get older and i don't care if get it when i'm 65 like my gram but i dont' want it at 17!!

Stay a normal weight and exercise DAILY. Cut out the carbs and sugars and eat more lean meats and veggies and some (but not too many fruits). Avoid all sugary drinks. Exercise is crucial, along with maintaining a normal weight.

Also, they recently found that people who lack sleep begin to put their bodies into a prediabetic state, so get plenty of good quality sleep.
