What will happen if asthma is left untreated?

I have been getting chest tightness and difficulty in breathing lately and I think it might be asthma.. But I dont want to go to the doctor since it's not that bad.
If it is asthma, and i leave it untreated, what is the worst thing that can happen?

How is exercise induced asthma different to regular asthma?
What are the different types of asthma how many different types are there?
Whats the difference between an Asthma attack and having Asthma?
Is it possible to have asthma and not have asthma attacks?
How many different forms do Asthma attacks take?

h s June 4, 2009 at 12:00 pm: Asthma untreated scars your lungs even further, best thing would probably to take a medicated inhaler…not a rescue inhaler but something that will medicate your lungs…but then again they might perscribe you a rescue inhaler…better safe than dead…that's what I always said, haha.
