Wrong Placental Position

Wrong Placental Position

I had my ultrasound done at 19 weeks (I'm now almost 22 weeks) but this hasn't concerned me until now.
The u/s technician asked if I'd felt my son move yet and was slightly shocked

when I told her I hadn't, considering his movements while the u/s was being done. Turns out, my placenta is sorta backwards, I guess? She said the placenta should be between the baby and my spine, but instead it's between my abdomen and the baby. She said I may not feel the baby move until at least 28 weeks.
Has this happened to anyone else? This is my first pregnancy, but I'm dying to feel him in there. I'm so worried that I may never feel him.
Also.. .will this lead to a problem later down the road when I go into labor?

Hey there. I have an anterior placenta too, and so do plenty of other women. It's caused me no problems thus far and the doctor does not suspect it will during delivery either. I actually still felt my baby move early at about 16 weeks. It's possible you might not feel him move for a bit but it may come sooner than 28 weeks. You WILL feel him eventually though, I can guarantee that! I'm 38 weeks now and my little one moves so much in there sometimes it is almost painful. Don't worry, everything will be okay. Talk to your OB about it and he/she can reassure you of that.
