Mixing aerobic with anaerobic exercise because of fibromyalgia?

I have fibromyalgia (FMS) or something like it. The main restriction I have is intolerance of aerobic activity. I can do strength training for 25 minutes with little risk, but taking a brisk walk for more than 15 minutes is extremely risky. I recently eliminated all unnecessary sugar from my diet and am generally eating much better, and it's had great effects. I just purchased an aerobics video, and did aerobics for 15 minutes today. I feel so great that I want to be able to maintain the ability to do this at least twice a week.

My real question is:

If I do the aerobics for 3 minutes, then stop and do strength training for a minute (for a "break" from the more risky aerobics), and then hop up & start the aerobics again for another 3 minutes and so on, will I really be helping to maintain my elevated heart rate by doing the strength training?
