Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder OR ADD?

My mother just got a call from a clinic saying that my brothers school wants him to be SEEN! I think they are going to try to diagnose him with ADD or ADHD. He does tend to talk too much and always has to be doing something to keep himself busy. My mother has worked with children with medical problems. One of the children that she cared for took some medication to calm him down because he was so hyperactive. We didn’t like the idea of him taking the medications. I don’t know how to explain it. It made us kind of sad because it was as if he were a whole different person when he had the medicaion in his system. I would like to know what people that have been diagnosed with ADD or ADHD think of the idea of taking medication. Does it help or you against it?

well 4 children don't give them any stimulants like adderall or ritalin unless they are uncontrouble at home at school everywhere! they get in trouble alot there loud they never listen yes, they need it to focus and be productive. now talking too much and problems in school once in a while is normal do not medicate a child that dosen't need it your giving them speed! its sad but some teachers today can't put up with children who are loud and never sit still and listen so they tell the school to have them please looked at and then thats when they are perscribed stimulants for the teacher when the child may not even be that bad its really the teacher needs to switch her profession or take some medication herself! basically, if it's not out of control to the point of constant complaints by teachers family the child is failing classes then NO MEDICINE SHOULD BE GIVEN TO THEM 4 UR ONLY GIVING SPEED TO A CHILD WHEN ITS NOT NECESSIARY!
