Does anyone besides me have diabetes burnout?

I am tired of taking care of my diabetes. I've been on insulin for 13 years. I'm tired of everything it takes to control blood sugars day in and day out. Not taking care of my blood sugars daily can be dangerous, so I guess that's out. Any suggestions for burnout?

Make a list every day of all the things you can think of that you are able to do because you take care of your diabetes. (What are you grateful for in your life?) When negative thoughts about the burnout come up immediately switch your mind to how fortunate you are that you have a condition that can be controlled. Tell yourself this burnout feeling will pass, it will, these down feelings, always pass. See a counselor and get some input on how to focus on the good in your life. Discover, how in your life, could diabetes be a blessing in disguise. And most importantly, be more loving to yourself. When you are controlling your blood sugar, I assume with medication, talk to yourself, in your head or out loud, and act like a caring mom. Smile and soothe yourself. Tell yourself you are taking care of a precious person, whom if were not here, so many would be sad and not be blessed by your presence in their life. Write poems about the symbolism of the needle or pill entering your body like a hummingbird that delivers life giving nectar or a bee that pollinates the flower that is you.
