Has anyone had success with treating diabetes insipidus?

Understand this is not diabetes it has many symptoms of diabetes but the sugar level is fine and does not change. But the dog will have many symtoms of diabetes like overdrinking of water. The water is not absorbed it just passes through so fast that the dog stays dehydrated. We have her on an antiduretic medication, ketaconazole, Sam E , We still have to take her water away from her occasionally to keep her from overdrinking and spitting it back up. X-rays have shown a enlarged adrenal gland and kidney. We just can't afford surgery to remove the adrenal gland and all the medications that will have to be given following the surgery to keep her going. We already spend nearly 5 a month on medicines now and we are not rich by any means. It puts a strain on us to put out this much.
