hello! I had back surgery almost a year ago after occasional bouts of back pain for the past 5 years. I would crumble over in agony about twice a year for no apparent reason..and they had to do immediate surgery when i had numbness in my leg and really weak foot muscles. I still dont have feeling on the right side of my calf muscle. I can feel my foot and have no trouble walking..but i still havnt gotten feeling back on that darned right side. Has anyone else had experience with this? i stil have some pain also..but i havnt had a really bad occurince since before surgery…so thats good news.
i had a ruptured disc l4-l5 area. i had to get a laminectomy to remove the ruptured disc that was pressing on the nerve. the nerve was obviously slightly damaged since i lost full motion of my right foot: cant lift up the toes all the way. i have another slightly bulging disc…but that hasnt caused problems. The dr. said there is nothing he can do about the numbness. just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.
