What types of ailments are there regarding malformed and discolored red blood cells??

Can it be linked to some type of cancer and what can be done. Case of almost continuous anemia without with or very little absotion from capsules. Overweight, diabetic (mellitus type2), hyopthiroidism. Possible answers are appreciated!!
