My doc put me on Metformin for insulin resistance due to PCOS. I took the drug for 3 days and felt a little spaced out but it seemed to get better. I decided to get on the internet and read about the drug and how it works and got completely freaked out by the risk of lactic acidosis. It appears to be a rare side effect and those with liver or kidney disease tend to be more at risk. I’m mid 30’s and pretty healthy but I’m so freaked out about this lactic acidosis situation now I don’t want to take the drug. Comments?
